CANFIELD, Ohio — Dan Pecchia, president of Pecchia Communications, a Youngstown public relations firm, will be the featured speaker at the July 10 meeting of the Western Reserve Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (get a flier here).
In a presentation titled, “Manage Change or It Will Manage You,” Pecchia will address the rise of formalized change-management programs for companies undergoing major changes.
The meeting begins with lunch and networking at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Alberini’s Restaurant in Niles, with the presentation at 12 noon. Attendees can register at this link.
“Even the most successful companies encounter seasons of dramatic change brought on by new technology, new leadership, new business systems, new regulations, new customer markets and other things new,” Pecchia said.
“Some companies do their best to ‘work through it’ and hope things turn out OK. Others build plans to successfully manage change and its impact on employees.”
Pecchia will cover some of the most common methodologies for managing change and the hallmarks of successful change management. He will also discuss barriers to addressing change and will share some real-world examples of powerful and problematic activities he has observed.
Pecchia has been a public relations consultant since 1992, following 11 years as a daily newspaper reporter and editor. In recent years, he has spearheaded change management communications campaigns at Timken Company, Whirlpool Corp. and AkzoNobel/Glidden Paints.
Pecchia Communications provides public relations, media relations, professional writing, marketing, social media, change management and interactive services to companies large and small.
