CANFIELD, Ohio – Pecchia Communications today announced that BP America Inc., one of the world’s largest developers of oil and natural gas, has enlisted the public relations services of the local firm as one of the companies supporting its activities in the proposed Utica and Point Pleasant shale project.
“Our agreement with Pecchia Comm demonstrates our commitment to hiring locally whenever possible as we continue to explore the possibility of safely developing this natural resource,” said Curtis Thomas, Director of BP’s Government and Public Affairs department in Ohio.
Terms of the agreement, which followed discussions with several local public relations firms, were not disclosed.
Dan Pecchia, president of Pecchia Communications, said its work with BP reflects the favorable opportunities local companies are seeing with the rise in oil and gas activity.
